What's the Point in Wearing Jewelry?

Egyptians wore jewelry to enhance their appearance. I guess that's why people nowadays wear all that jewelry. Women also used it to improve their beauty and prestige in the Egyptian society(ooo la la).Just like our society, rich people wore jewelry also to show how wealthy they were. For example, they would probably be like, I got three gold bracelets, what do you have? In Egypt, they would put on a ton of jewelry for special occasions, such as parties or gatherings.
